well I finally started to rewatch it and man the storyline while for the kids is amusing. The cel animation is dated but I still liked it, what about everyone else?

Btw, never get a vcd version the subtitling is atrocious! :( :the wave

Alot of people liked it and thought it was "funny".
Then again, alot of people think Scooby Doo is "funny", so screw everyone else.

It looked like it was meant to be a 70's giant robot cartoon (which isn't particularly a BAD thing), only it also wanted to be a bit Digimon.

It annoyed me honestly. It was very hard to watch. Beyond stupid enemies didn't help.
A Transformers cartoon CAN (at least for one season) be slapstick and funny, but this just felt all wrong.
Remember in the Transformers movie when one of the Dinobot's eyes go cartoony and fly out when he was hit... yeah... the entire season was like that.
With annoying voices.

I was glad when Armada went and brought things back to being more serious, but even that was plagued with:
--Touchy-feely hippy crap
--Wretched, nonsensical character voices
--(See above) Dumb, dumb, DUMB Decepticon comedy relief characters
--(See voices again) Dumb, dumb, DUMB Earth kids

The ending also fell into the Dragonball Z, Saint Seiya, Digimon, Pokemon movie problem that plagued many anime in the past... that "you beat me and you're stronger, but ALL THE KIDS ON EARTH ARE CRYING AND THEIR TEARS MAKE ME STRONG!" thing.

Sadly, Armada was better than RiD. RiD was probably my most hated TF series ever.
Not that the Canadian Headmasters episodes where Blaster is called "Billy" were great or anything.

:lmao

Unfortunately I never even saw one episode. After I saw a few episodes of Beast Machines, I lost interest in the current TF lines and focused more on my G1 and my GI Joe collections. Then I got back into the current lines when I saw the HOC line and a couple of Armada molds that I liked, now I collect quite a few of the Energon figs and watch the show when its convient.

As awful as Fox kids had crapped all over Beast Wars, I still would take BM over RiD.

At least it had a mildly eye candy ending episode full of some one on one fighting.

I can deal with a tree growing on Cybertron... but a tree getting hot, sweet love from a rat is something that takes time.

The Dark God! Survivor of the Faction Wars

WQell I loved Beast Wars. Beast Machines I didn't care for that much and I missed the last episode. But I really didn't care for RID at all. I didn't even care for the toys. I have Prime but his latter attachment when he becomes Super Prime or whatever never stayed on. I got Prowl, the only good one I saw. And had two of the Trains but returned them. One of them his legs were so close together it was like he didnt hae legs. After that I didn't bother buying anymore. I watched the show cause it was Transformers but didn't care if I missed one. But RID started the whole Megatron becomes Galvatron by getting a new paint job. Hate it, hate it, hate it. If they are so cheap they can't make a new figure then leave him as Megatron. Now I have heard rumors that in Cybertron Galvatron is a new mold. *fingers crossed* Now out of all of them I really liked Scourge, he was my favorite, a anti Prime. It was awesome. My only regret was not haveing $40 to buy him at TRU that time I saw him.

The RID series wasn't that great, but I think it has the best Prime since G1. BM would not have been so bad is Mainframe had been allowed to continue animating it. I got tired of seeing the same 3 Power Ranger poses flashing on the screen for every fight sequence. The BM stories were not that bad in concept, the writing was just boring.

It is funny in so many ways, especially if you don't take it seriously.

Scourge, Megs and SkyBit have some great comedic moments IMO.

Also the brat and human interaction really isn't as annoying as say, Armada, Energon and what I will predict the new line. Sigh.
