Really liked the stock image, the eyes stand out to me. Tried a few new things with it, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

Not bad. What techniques did you use on it?

The background is a stock image, but unity was my focus with this one. I played around with gradient maps for the first time to try and cut down on the variety of colors and give it a nice orange shade, to match the flower on her head.

As an unexpected plus, the gradient maps really made the contrast on her pop, I really liked how it brought out the shadows on her.

Huh, that's a tool I've never used before. I actually had to look it up to see what you were talking about. Very nice man.
It can have a similar effect as creating a Duotone or Monotone I see (image-mode-grayscale then duotone)
I can also see where you're coming from with the unity thing. By changing the color scheme you've tied everything together quite nicely.

Yea I wasn't really that aware of what they were either honestly. I had heard a lot of people mention them on a gfx board I'm a member of, and I finally just tracked down a tutorial. They can actually be fine tuned to do a lot of cool effects.
