Herald of Chaos.

Console: XBOX360/PC

Background: Space RPG/Shooter hybrid game, set in the future, you are Commander Shepard. Your task is to prevent cosmic genocide of all organic life forms. Recruit your team, and use their powers alongside your own.

Story
I really dont want to spoil any of it, and it is kinda long, but its good.
Good enough to keep you hooked to the end, its almost a movie with its dialogue, you decide how to deal with people.
Shop's prices too high? Charm the owner. Jerk getting on your nerves? Intimidate him.
New things such as cutscene interupts have been added.
For example, if a reporter is being rude to you, you can just interupt them with a punch to the face.
However if you are new to the series, its best you play the first game before this, you might be overwhelmed by whats going on and who's who.
9.8/10

Graphics
Amazing, Characters look and feel the way you'd expect them to.
From the damn ugly krogans to the silly salarians, there is no detail spared, humans and asari both blink and youll notice that.
Only issue I have is with some characters eyes, they appear to all have one lazy eye or so.
9.8/10

Controls
Only issue with the first game was the horrible cover system... which they fixed!
Its now a cover system like Gears, so it works much better.
Powers are the same, easy access from wheel or map to a button.
That horrible Mako from the first game is gone too!
However, the only thing I dont like is the controls for the hacking minigame, sometimes an older controller might not work so well.
9.8/10

Gameplay
Amazing. Takes FPS/Gears style shooting and mixes in RPG elements as well.
You and your team level up as the game goes on, getting newer abilities.
Each teammate has a special side quest you can do, it gains you their loyalty [which decides which ending you get, thats right multiple endings] and a special power [which you can also learn]
You can now scan worlds for resources, which is kind of slow, but is still better than the first game.
Gone are all the weapons, there are 19 or so weapons in the game, so you might not have as much weapon or armor buying.
9.8/10

Multiplayer
n/a, single player game with DLC content [Available from day1]

Overall
9.8/10
Game of the year contender, but also one of the best games.
If you like faster paced RPGs and shooting games, youll enjoy this.
But hell, if you enjoyed the first one, this is much better.
For a newcomer though, its best you play the first one, to understand what went on, and the basics of the game.

MISC
A character who has just beaten the last boss of the first game can be imported, it is the autosave file right after you kill the last boss of Mass Effect 1 that carries over.
For a quick run, you can rush through the first game in just under 8 hours, doing just the main quests.
Imported characters keep their credits [money], class and looks can be redone. An imported lvl60 character will start the game at lvl5 though.

Gamestop orders get a special gun, which is my heavy weapon of choice right now.
It fires a black hole which sucks everything up into it, then detonates, very nice.
Collectors editions get a collector's assault rifle, which tears through shields, also very nice.
