While I have to say this thing has me excited to buy one, I still find it lacking. I was hoping for a downsized version of OS X. But alas that did not happen. However, that doesn't bother me near as much as the dumbasses complaining and bloggin about things they apparently have been out of the loop of. Their first complaint; Why doesn't it have flash? BECAUSE they want you to go to itunes and buy stuff! #2 Where is the camera? It's a F'n tablet, not an F'n camera. You want a camera go buy one, they are pretty cheap right now. And with the space saved it probably bought an hour of battery life. #3 Its a giant itouch. Well no crap! Did you really, honestly, truly expect something else. #4 How come the 3G model is more expensive? Well id10t, people want your money and they will kill your mother to get it. Why would you want a monthly subscription service with your tablet? You already pay for internet at your house. You already pay for a huge phone bill with 3G coverage. You want another bill? id10t! Get the CHEAPER wifi version and be happy. Do you need to text on it? Do you feel the need to have 20,000 devices at your desk that "tweet"? Are you honestly that connected to the internet that it cannot go an instant without you? NO! Your a, well I cant say that here at our forum. But honestly, get a life and find a calling, other then bashing everything that isn't your idea. So haters back off. If you want something else, well go get it. Job's is not holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy it. And if you like it but think it is lacking, tell Mac and hope v2.0 will be better. Man most people suck. My biggest problem is with it, is I just bought an iMac, so I can't really justify buying this as well. I love the idea of a giant iPod touch though, as opposed to everyone that hates it, so this is awesome. Maybe I'll pick one up if my tax return check is big enough. I don't know why people are acting so surprised/annoyed with it though. I mean, its been a long time coming, this sort of thing has been rumored for years. Its looking to be a definite Kindle killer as well. I heard amazon dropped the price of their online books in response to this, so they clearly take it as a threat. |

Agreed trail, but I do find it lacking in some depts. IN the same breathe I've watched them and worked closely so I know this is just step one in market saturation and a more polished version will be out shortly. Things I hate: -no USB, only the 30 pin adapter for single usb (this is the biggest thing in my opinion) -no flash- why the hell not?! the app store is still viable, but a flash player would make the internet experience sooo much nicer -no word on running multi apps - no camera- I love my ichat feature on my imac and macbook, but more over I LOVE the augmented reality apps that use it THings to remember (I work for a certain company ya know): -the ipad will only be sold at apple stores to start -pay per use 3g increases the cost of the device, but you'll note 2 year contract pricing isn't announced yet. (my 32 gb 3gs is actually 799 but the sub. price is 299) Now all that aside, this is really just a netbook. think of it like this: iphone-legs ipad-bike home computer- car Now I'll be honest, I care but I don't at the same time. What I want more than anything from apple??? The rumored Oakley Juliet augmented reality sunglasses and HUD system. |

The 3G pricing is $30 for unlimited per month. I do agree it is lacking in some areas, but my main point is that it is an apple product and most of the things people are crying about are things Mac has always done. The multiple App thing though just kills me. Why does every gadget have to do 20,000 things at once to be respected. I don't need the weather, news, stocks, iworks, itunes, and whatever running at one time. Hell, most of the human race can't even drive a car while listening to music at the same time without becoming distracted. I doubt they can process all that info at once, so why beg for it. |

its an apple product, aimed at the people who will buy it, but dont need the processing power that other products have people will buy it thinking itll replace thier laptop, but then get dissappointed ive so far not seen a tablet that can hold up to even a netbook, the hardware is just too weak to support the price at 750, i can get a good PC laptop that has specs that rival a $1200 macbook, or for $50 more the alienware m11x will arrive that can do much more mac should aim more to the business end, but they have to realize that the business world does not just run on thier app store people use word processing, spreadsheets and presentations, all which the tablet needs to support full on if it wants to replace the laptops functionallity, then it requires more output devices its a novelty idea, but like most of thier products, it wont take a chunk out of the business world, for entertainment, it might be good, but wont run high end games i think it is a good media player, if it will support files that are not just mp4 or itunes drm will it kill laptops? most likely not, its not practical or useful for business or gaming will it kill other hand held media players? most likely yes if it supports more than mp4 and drm, right now mp4 and drm are killing hand held media players will it kill the psp/NDS? most likely not, psp is stable with FF, monster hunter, and DS is going up with yet another pokemon game remake |

So I have had a chance to play with the ipad and I love it. It does get heavy after holding it for awhile. So playing any of the accelerometer games on it for long periods of time would not be recomended. I was very disappointed to find that the slimmed down version of iworks wasn't included with it. A $9.99 dl from itunes. I mean my work go the 64 Gig one. For that price I think a lil extra would be nice. I should have a 16 gig in my hands in a few days, then I will really tear it down, but overall I was impressed and cannot wait to further investigate the ipad. And the battery life is truly awesome. We ran it for 4 days and when we finally plugged it in on Friday it was still at 25%. We had been pretty much running it everyday for around 4 - 6 hours. Even using it as our default ipod for a few days. |

I absolutley love it. After having a few days with the device it is great. I used it last night to book my hotel for Otokon. It was great to have the portability of my iPhone with a larger screen and a non downsized Internet. Working on price line was a cinch. I did find the 16 gig version to be a lil small. After I loaded all my videos, photos, and music it left me with 2.3 gigs left. So when I buy one it will be the 64 gig version. I am typing on it currently and find it very comfortable to use on my lap, whilst watching tv. So I would highly recommend this device to anyone who would like the portability of an ipod with the functionality of a laptop. Granted it doesn't do everything a laptop does, but I usually don't need all that while I'm watching tv or doing some quick net reading. |
